Instant Noodles have come a long way however they still can do with a good boost in freshness and flavour, so we have put together the below guide turning a small snack into a hearty meal!
Ultimately you can throw anything into it that needs warming up or a gentle cook. The below is simply a guide based on using some meat and vegetables but all are optional!

Suggested Ingredients
One of the below:
- 100gm thinly sliced raw lean beef (such as tenderloin, sirloin or rump)
- 100gm thinly sliced cooked any meat or seafood
Use up to four of below:
- ¼ pack enoki mushrooms
- 1 large Shiitake Mushroom, thinly sliced
- ¼ Cup Tofu, whichever style you like)
- 3-4 Baby Corn, sliced into quarters
- 1 head Baby Pak or Bok Choi, roughly chopped or quartered
- handful Baby Spinach
- 1 head Broccoli (thinly sliced)
- handful of Snow Peas
- ½ Small Carrot, Julienne or grated
- ¼ cup chinese Cabbage (thinly sliced)
- handful of chopped fresh Shallots or chives
One or two of the below as seasonings:
- 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- a splash of Fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon Ponzu Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Mentsuyu Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Miso, loosened in warm water
Any of the below as toppings;
- a few leaves of Fresh Coriander
- a teaspoon of Deep Fried Shallots
- Handful of Bean Sprouts
- 1 teaspoon Toasted Sesame Seeds
- A light drizzle of Sesame Oil
- 1 deseeded Chilli or a Squirt of Sriracha Hot Sauce or Chilli Oil
- 1 Boiled, Fried or 62 Degrees Sous Vide Egg
- 1 Toasted Nori (seaweed) Sheet
- ¼ fresh Lemon or ½ Lime
Method
Make the noodles to the packets instructions. If you need a stock (i.e. you just have the noodles) then ensure you get a good quality stock such as The Stock Merchant Chicken or Beef Stock.
If the noodles are cooked using the steeping method, add the first 3 lots of ingredients (meat, veg and seasoning) in at the beginning. If the noodles are cooked with the boiling Method, add the first 3 lots of ingredients at the end as soon as you take it off the boil. Ultimately we want these ingredients warmed through but not overcooked or tough in the case of the meat.
Assemble the noodles with the stock in a bowl then add whichever toppings you have chosen.
You’re instant noodles will never be the same again!
